30 day blog challenge

31 Days of Family History Challenge – Intro

Tree of Life – Yggdrasil by Lioudmila Perry

Hello there and Happy New Year! My name is Debi Pruyne. I’m an artist and the owner of HootOwl Handicrafts. This is my personal blog, but I may share arts and crafts related posts from time to time.

It’s a New Year and I thought I would share a new Blog Challenge. I really enjoy researching my family history and want to be more intentional about it this year. I also want to think ahead to my future generations and save them the trouble of having to do all this work from scratch, so I decided to start what is called a Legacy Journal. More about that in the next post.

Since there are 31 days in January, I put together a list of 31 prompts related to Family History to get started. Jump in anytime! If you aren’t stating this at the beginning of the month, or you are starting in a shorter month, feel free to weed it down a little. Also, if a prompt doesn’t fit you, or you want to write about something else, go right ahead. These are only suggestions. And you don’t need to do them in this exact order, either

Blogging should fun and relaxing.  This challenge is meant to be motivating, not stressful and there are no judgements here.  My rules are simple.

  1. Write a blog post every day.  It can be as long or as short as you wish.  It’s up to you.
  2. If you miss a day, it’s not the end of the world.  Don’t try to catch up, just pick up where you left off the next day.
  3. Have fun.  Add pictures, videos, songs, poems, whatever you like.  It’s your blog.
  4. Leave me a comment below, along with a link to your initial blog post.

Here’s my list, so let’s begin!
